Background
The Montien Hotel, Bangkok, the first hotel of Montien Hotels Thailand, was established more than four decades ago, owned and managed by Tantakit Co., Ltd. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit graciously presided over the official opening ceremony of the Montien Hotel on February 14, 1967. With the successful operation for more than 40 years, the Montien Hotel provides the finest Thai Traditional hospitality and personal services as well as a full range of facilities as one of Thailand’s leading hotels, with along the slogan:

M.R. Mitraroon Kasemsri was an architecture who designed and decorated the hotel in Thai traditional style and marked the name as “Montien” which means “the Royal Residence”
The Montien Hotel is operated by Tantakit Co., Ltd., with Mr. Wan Tantakit as the founder since 1967. First, there was one building with 200 guestrooms. In 1975, Mr. Bunnetra Tantakit, Mr. Wan’ s son, took over the management of the company and then extended the hotel to 500-room hotel.
The North Wing of the hotel was built which has 19 floors, 300 rooms, swimming pool and Rajmontien Grand Ballroom. A 6-floor car park was built as well, which has capacity of 250 cars and 50 cars for outside car park. The hotel’s North Wing was completed on December 1, 1977, and the South Wing was completely renovated in 1978.
The Montien Hotel Pattaya joined the group in August 1981, built on on 23 rai with 300 guestrooms.
The 3rd addition to the group is Montien Riverside Hotel, which opened on 19th December 1994. Situated on the banks of Chao Praya River on Rama III Road, it has 462 guestrooms and suites.
